Hold on to all of your dreams.
~Richard Nelson Bolles
It is difficult to continue to pursue your greatest dream in the midst of adversity. Giving up seems like a viable option.
In 2003, I embarked on a journey toward my art career. I have hit more than my share of snags.
I have battled a lot of doubt about how good I am and what I deserve.
I have battled myths about the art field and about what is expected from me as an artist.
But I can tell you that while I pursue my dream of becoming a full time artist, life has never had more satisfying returns.
The challenge is this: On a daily basis remind yourself about the sort of picture of your life you want to live in.
If you get discouraged, take a breather and think again about what your goal is and why you want to achieve it.
For me I want to be independantly employed to solve problems more effectively, to serve others, to share my love of Jesus in practical ways, and to support a family.
Don't let the picture get dim for too long. Use the truth to shine a light on it.
Well said, Alex. Thanks for the encouragement!
